Regional and National Suzuki Organizations
Sycamore Strings Academy is associated with the following two organizations: SANC (Suzuki Association of Northern California) and SAA (Suzuki Association of the Americas). They offer many types of support and opportunities for Suzuki studies. Teacher and family memberships are available to both.
SAA (Suzuki Association of the Americas) is a large support organization for the promotion of the Suzuki Method, which oversees accredited Institutes throughout the Americas. SAA publishes a quarterly journal, American Suzuki Journal, full of great articles and inspirations. It is well worth the $42.00 SAA membership price, which includes a subscription and which also gives you access to an AV library, educational/resource materials, mentoring/volunteering resources, teacher location service, networking and international connections.
SANC (Suzuki Association of Northern California) offers playing and educational opportunities throughout the year. These include: Annual Graduation, which requires taping in November and a group performance in January, East Bay Suzuki Play-in in March, the Stanford Institute in August, and a Suzuki weekend at Camp Campbell in September. They publish a quarterly newsletter, The SANC Gazette, which reports on Suzuki programs and events in Northern California, including the greater Bay Area. We strongly encourage all our student families to become members.
